![]() ![]() Had a much better writer put a little more effort into the screenplay, this could've easily been better. The cinematography was decent as were the sets and location. The score was typical B grade - annoyingly constant and unfitting for the most part. The performances and casting were decent for a B film, although Monaghan deserves better. And the ending - suggesting a sequel, was a Bruce Willis walking behind explosions with a cheesy narrative of what's to come - utterly cliched, unimaginative and cringeworthy. The Black Cauldron is an American animated feature dark fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Productions and originally released to theaters on July 24, 1985. ![]() Don't get me wrong, from the start there seemed to be potential, but then it started to go downhill fast. Even the normally comfortable runtime of 93 mins felt much longer with the slow pacing and long and mostly unnecessary scenes. ![]() Isn't the telecom hatch a way out lol? Then there was this action scene that looked like it was edited by a 5 year old, irrelevant frames thrown in the middle of the choreography that would make anyone cringe. It was a cliched, lazily written with an underwhelming narrative that's been told many times before, and much better. Newb director Sophia Banks in her first full length feature film also tried her best with the terrible screenplay seasoned writer John Collee came up with. Reviewed by Top_Dawg_Critic 6 / 10 Even the lovely Michelle Monaghan couldn't save this poorly written and executed cliched mess. ![]()
